IIMAN Care Program
"Serving those too often left behind"
Problem Statement
Visible minorities and new comers are facing growing challenges in accessing essential healthcare and social support services. Barriers include limited access to affordable childcare, respite care, and primary healthcare services, which disproportionately affect their ability to benefit from available social programs.
These gaps not only compromise the health and well-being of individuals and families but also contribute to systemic inequities that leave visible minorities underserved and marginalized.
IIMAN Care
IIMAN Care was established to address persistent gaps in access to health services and to reduce disparities experienced by visible minorities and underserved populations.
We exist to ensure that families and individuals who are often left behind can access affordable childcare, respite care, primary healthcare, and other essential supports.
Our work focuses on building equity, improving health outcomes, and creating inclusive pathways so that every community member has the opportunity to thrive.

Employment Opportunities
There are many jobs and employment opportunities in the respite and home care sector in the Edmonton area, ranging from frontline caregiver roles to specialized positions supporting children, seniors, and adults with disabilities. These positions are offered through home care agencies, community support organizations, and private households.
Opportunities typically include:
Respite Caregivers – Providing short-term relief for families and caregivers.
Home Support Workers / Personal Care Aides – Assisting with daily living needs such as meal preparation, mobility, hygiene, and companionship.
Special Needs Support Workers – Working with children and adults with developmental, cognitive, or physical disabilities to promote independence and quality of life.
Community Support Workers – Connecting families with services and helping them navigate health and social systems.
Specialized Care Positions – Including palliative care support, behavioral support workers, and rehabilitation aides.
The demand for respite and home care workers in Edmonton continues to grow due to an aging population, rising demand for disability supports, and increasing recognition of caregiver burnout. This creates steady employment opportunities for individuals seeking meaningful work in the care sector.
IIMAN Care - Dual Mission
IMAN Care helps bridge the gap by preparing visible minorities and underserved individuals to enter these roles, offering culturally responsive training, mentorship, and pathways to employment in a growing and essential field.
Through our dual mission, IIMAN Care not only fills critical gaps in care services but also transforms systemic barriers into opportunities — supporting vulnerable newcomers while advancing women’s economic empowerment.
IIMAN Care is committed to creating meaningful employment pathways for visible minorities in the Edmonton area, particularly in the growing sector of respite and home care services. Recognizing the barriers that racialized communities often face—such as limited access to culturally sensitive training, language challenges, and systemic inequities—we provide targeted support to ensure equal opportunity and career growth.
By equipping visible minorities, in particularly women, with the skills, certification, and experience needed in the care sector. We aim to increase household income, promote economic and labor force participations and more inclusive economic benefit.
